We had to have this sofa, the Panama, by Kreiss, in Portofino Cream, HOISTED up nineteen floors to the roof, then dropped back down to the 16th floor today. I just need to add some beautiful fat down filled pillows....this reminded me of when I worked with Parkin Saunders on the late Theodore Forstmann Fifth Avenue penthouse, and was responsible for having an eight million dollar painting by Georges Bracque HOISTED up and brought in through the opening where a window had been removed expressly to admit the paintings' passage, and THEN, I had to supervise having an antiqued mirrored wall in the library DRILLED so that this magnificent museum quality work of art could be hung there...all of which was done in under two hours! It was FABULOUS! DF *****

I was in the Ralph Lauren boutique the other day, and spied this relatively new book, by Fort Lauderdale designer/historian Kim Mockler. Actually, the book JUMPED OFF THE SHELF AND CAME FLYING AT ME!!! I had posted earlier about my obsession with this famous society architect of the past, and his daughter Alexandra Fatio Taylor sent me a lovely thank you note, postmarked from Geneva, Switzerland. GET THIS BOOK! Amazon has seven new copies as of this posting. (It) has some juicy tidbits, including information on one of my favorite of all the Estate Section houses he did, called CASA ELEDA. Strangely, Eleda is derived from the lady of the house, her name was Adele! (Adele spelled backwards). Pop singer Adele took the cake last night at the Grammy Awards!

Anyway, one Casa Eleda owner was so greedy that he had his wife murdered, to prevent her from getting any of his filthy dirty money...the house is currently on the market. The book is very useful and full of amazing photography and history of old P.B., one of my favorite places to visit here in Florida. Enjoy! DF *****

Penthouse Party Manhattan

I once attended a lovely party, at the Park Avenue penthouse of designers Stephen Sills and Ford Huniford. I loved the mellow ambience, and the elegance of the marble lobby contrasted with the elevator opening onto THE ROOF, which was a garden very elegantly paved in pea gravel, leading to the double sash door entry and entry foyer... Stephen Sills is one of the most talented designers in the world, and I think of him often. His talent is quite cerebral, and I would urge you to visit his beautiful site, where you can see his stunning Bedford, New York country house, shown here. ENJOY! DF *****

Designer Profile: Haynes Roberts

I recently discovered, via the web, the firm of HAYNES ROBERTS, a New York City based design team, consisting of Timothy Haynes, a Harvard trained architect, and Kevin Roberts, a designer who has worked in Geneva, Switzerland. I was very taken with this dining room, which is shown on their website as well. I love the mood of the room, and the photography is by one of the better known camera-istes, adding a certain gravitas to the image. The sophisticated mix of furnishings, the controlled palette, the art, I love the whole as well as the parts. I admire also the contrast between the dark covers on the painted frames of the chairs, foiling the ethereal washed blue walls. Congrats to HR on a job well done! DF *****

Room of the Week is BACK! I had been waiting for something like a catalyst to inspire a DFS post, and while reading one of my favorite new designer blogs, belonging to MARK SIKES, I got a nice lift from his recent BILL BLASS post, featuring this astonishing FRANCESCO SCAVULLO portrait of the ever fabulous, always young, GLORIA VANDERBILT. While I have never had the privilege of being in the same room or even seeing GV, I did know the late Ron Grimaldi, who helped GV with some of her decorating. I was told that she once paid something like $16,000.00 for one antique textile pillow. I also have never managed to meet her son, Anderson, who is always on television. However, my old friend Marcy has a sister who married into the Cecil family, who still own the Biltmore estate in Asheville, NC. Marcy was recently featured in HOUSE, on New York Social Diary. She is a fab lady and we attended classes together back in the good old eighties, under the tutelage of luminaries such as the late STANLEY BARROWS, who was the chairman of our interior design department at FIT. Also, BILL BLASS was our speaker at our graduation ceremony, and oh my what an inspiring speech he gave. May he rest in peace. The classical opulence displayed in this room, where GV stands, dressed by BLASS, is so beautiful and so classic, it will always be in style. I hope it will inspire you as it did me! DF *****

This gorgeous 1906 estate is still on the market. Astor Courts, or The Casino, part of the old famous Astor Estate known as Ferncliff, at Rhinebeck, did not make its minimum at auction, so Houlihan Lawrence now has it listed for 8.5 million. What a steal! It's already had systems upgrades from the current owners, and could be used for a corporate meeting center or possibly a boutique hotel. I would want it for my "country house" as a retreat from the city, and as it sits on 50 acres, it could be just the ticket. Indoor pool AND tennis! Wow! Those Astors really knew how to live! Oh, and Chelsea Clinton was married here!

Lunch in Paris (Almost)

Mary and I had a fabulous, luxurious and delicious dejeuner today, at PARIS, a new boite, in the former Cafe' Amador space, located at 2500 Tamiami Trail North. (Naples) Mary chose a gorgeous beef carpaccio salade, which of course I sampled, and it was DIVINE! I myself had a sensational, hot, flaky, fresh quiche aux saumon, with the accompanying petit salade, and it was as if I was in Cannes, St Trop, or Cap d'Antibes! Ooh la la! Monsieur Pascal was our deft and fast server, and we also enjoyed fresh baguette, an Italian Pinot grigio, and then, ooh la la, the best macarons ever - (pistache and framboise). I highly suggest this chic establishment when you are visiting our small town on the gulf of Mexico. There is also outdoor seating available, and the decor' is tres' chic, with purple walls, red leather and white tables and banquettes shaped like a seashell. ENJOY! DF ******

Over twelve million dollars was raised this year, bringing the total for the past twelve years to over one hundred million for children's charities. MARK SIKES, the L.A. stylist, has a great blog, and he posted about MARISA BERENSON - a lady I have always admired for her beauty, grace, and polish. This particular portrait of her, by the late, famous Horst - spoke out to me, and I decided to make a post just about this one shot. It screams glamour, and I love the background, as well as her pose. It doesn't show her amazingly striking face, however I feel the image captures a certain intangible glimpse into "la dolce vita" and what true style really is all about, from a fashion editorial point of view. I saw KATHY BECKER today, the editor of Naples Illustrated, and we shot a table setting in our showroom this morning, which was created by our Director of Design, Charlie Hansen. I am sorry I don't have my own picture of it, however it will be shown in an upcoming issue of "N.I.".

A Letter To Mario

I sent this to my dear friend MARIO BUATTA - after seeing him in HOUSE in NEW YORK SOCIAL DIARY, my favorite super-blog. Mario calls me every so often to play some kind of crazy joke on me. The last one involved him disguising his voice and pretending to be a potential new client, but I could tell it was him....LOL. The Ross apartment is a Mario tour de force, and New York glam at it's pinnacle. So, here's my letter, edited slightly for privacy reasons. ENJOY!

Dear Mario, This picture reminds me of a story that Tice told me about Sister falling under a chair in her bedroom while chatting on the phone with Diana V. Do you think it's true? I'm sure it is! Also - I believe that chintz is the same one we used for ________ in Houston - except I was supposed to order the colorway with taupe leaves, not green leaves! I think it was a Cowtan & Tout. Fashion Favorites: Brad and Yves

OK, I admit it, I had a blast tonight watching BRAD GORESKY on his new show, called "It's a Brad, Brad World". Brad has a disarming way of staring straight into the camera and totally revealing himself to the world, which I admire very much. He admitted that the pop star/actress Madonna changed his life, and helped him to realize he must approach what he wants with full force and energy. I agree with Brad, and can just imagine what Lady Gaga is doing for the young creatives out there who may be temporarily stranded in Kansas, or in Brad's case, Canada. I also love the way he looks, and he so reminds me of the late YVES SAINT LAURENT, one of my very favorite fashion designers of all time. Check out these two head shots and you'll see what I mean. I Remember: Bella Vista, Fairfield, CT

I'll always remember, and cherish, my memories of the time I spent at Bella Vista, a beautiful estate in Connecticut. Built in 1929 for Mrs. Hugh D. Auchincloss, Bella Vista has six bedrooms in 10,000 square feet, plus a separate staff or guest house. I was working for the distinguished New York designer, George Clarkson, who designed the house interiors and grounds with Jimmy Hollingsworth, for Mr. and Mrs. David Johnston. You may know of or know Shirley, she did the book "Palm Beach Houses" and is the most charming and beautiful person imaginable. It was such fun to complete the job, and be invited to stay for the weekend, sleeping in the guest rooms, and indulging in fabulous meals, Leron linens, and fresh flowers from the garden all over the house. I drove Jacqueline Gonnet from House & Garden up and she featured Bella Vista in an understated story of wealth and privilege. Currently on the market through Bill Raveis, it is listed for $12.500,000.00. Candy and Bill have a place here in Naples, and Raveis has the best listings in Connecticut. For quality, service, and atmosphere, one simply can't beat Ridgeway's in Old Naples. Sukie and Tony are celebrating their FORTIETH YEAR in business, and Adolfo was the best server ever. In fact, inscrutable comes to mind - and the Hanah Chardonnay was so creamy and smooth. We had the prix fixe - and it was most satisfying. Ikat Madness, in Christmas Rouge

I love this textile from F. SCHUMACHER, called Tiraz Cotton Ikat, in Rouge. While I haven't actually seen it in person, I like the pattern, the color, and I believe the design is woven in, not printed,but I will have to investigate. Imagine this on a pair of gilded or painted chairs, flanking your Christmas tree...beautiful! I would also like to see it used for a headboard and hangings in a bedroom, or as wall upholstery in a sitting room, or for some nice pillows on a beautiful down filled sofa. I have never seen an ikat pattern that I didn't respond to. Ikats are chic, modern, fun, and up to date, all at the same time! ENJOY! DF *****

Exciting December!

Judith Liegeois, Mark Sikes, Kitty LaRocco, Robert Couturier, House Beautiful, and Mummy's Oyster Stew! What could be more exciting than that? Judith has a fabulous new space - on 12th Avenue South, here in town, you MUST see it! It's a sexy and divine place of inspiring design. Mark Sikes got the cover of this month's (and next) House Beautiful, and I LOVE his style, it reminds me of mine, if only I lived in Los Angeles! Check out his blog http://www.markdsikes.com/ and see his charming house in this aforementioned issue. Sadly, a good source and wonderful fabulous woman in Naples - Kitty LaRocco - has died. I loved her, and she allowed me to purchase a stunning 1950's Italian sconce from her shop, before she closed it and moved into her warehouse. (See picture of it above). Finally, Robert Couturier, an old friend of my late mentor's Tice Alexander, has a spread in the new HB also, and its a chic house here in Naples. Many of the top designers in the world have been flown in to Naples for years to do up the homes of the top executives from industry throughout the U.S. so I was not surprised to see this. I loved his quote about living in paradise: "You can get very tired of living in paradise. That's why we only go to paradise when we're dead". Ha! It is true in a way, and no doubt the owners of the house featured most definitely are not in town in the off season. As for that oyster stew: Heat milk and butter, cook the raw oysters in it until done. Add some black or white pepper and a few dashes of Garners Texas Pete hot sauce, serve with plain saltine crackers, Delicious! That's all for now folks! XXOO DF *****

One of the things I learned in a very real way from my late friend and former associate designer, Tice Alexander, is that work is the true glamour. Work! Here, I share some more progress shots from a small unit in a Pelican Bay high rise condo (16th floor) - Enjoy! Speaking of work, I am so enamored of Rachel Zoe and her show on Bravo, The Rachel Zoe Project. I basically think that Ms. Zoe epitomizes what Tice meant, about work being the truest form of glamour and stylish living. When one loves his or her work, it becomes like a marriage, and I feel like Rachel Zoe and I are somewhat married to our careers. Our busy season is now starting, so - as Bette Davis said in "All About Eve" "Fasten your seat belts, we're in for a bumpy ride!" Work! XXOO DF *****

October 2011, New Beginnings, Bright Futures

Gosh, I'm beyond excited and pleased to be headed into my favorite month of all, OCTOBER! The weather has changed, the light went from a hot gold to a cool blue, which actually vibrates when you stare at the sky...the hot gold light melts into a blur, the winter light is super crisp and clean, reminding me of Autumn in New York, and the wonderful tingle in the air, mixed with the smell of roasting chestnuts and turning leaves, geraniums in pots... As I look back on my last fifty years of being on this planet, I realize how very fortunate I've been. The people in my life have been so incredibly interesting and really, charming and sweet in all ways possible. As Auntie Mame said, "Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!" Dear Mame meant no harm - she was just expressing her natural zest and love for all that life has to offer. The message seems to be that if we extend ourselves to others, most of the time they will meet us half way, and often we are surprised at where these relationships take us. Enjoy the day, enjoy your life, enjoy your family and friends, for in the end, that is all we really have. I wish you love, luck and much happiness! DF *****

18th Century Louis XV bergere

It's always great fun to meet a new potential client, and this morning I drove myself up the street to The Terraces, a luxury condominium on Gulf Shore Boulevard North, to visit the seasonal residence of one such lovely and charming person, who hails from Ohio... This condo was purchased when new by the owner, and she had worked with Holland Salley and Robb & Stucky on it over the last twenty years. We will be submitting a bid to remodel and decorate the apartment beginning work next Summer. I was struck by the use of an aubergine wall color in the living room, which was custom mixed by the owner with the painter. Here too, I share a shot of my latest "tablescape" - after living for several months with a totally nude table top. Am enjoying this melange of blue and white bits. I was doing some morning stretching exercises under the table, and caught this low angle shot of my fun dining area, which I couldn't resist sharing with you again. Finally, a favorite Louis XV style chair, since this is my 15th "Decorator Scrapbook"! ENJOY! I've just been having such a good time since July, when I joined Glenn Midnet and his talented team at Design West. Working on two projects for the firm here in Naples, and have some nice progress shots for you, made possible by the uber talented Naples contractor, Scott Kish. And Harry Trachtenberg, rep for Vanguard furniture of Hickory, NC, hosted a wonderful wine tasting for us recently, where we sampled and learned about Segura Viuda Brut Reserva, a Torrontes, a young Chenin Blanc (2010) and then on to the reds with Sangiovese, Rioja, 2005 Bordeaux, and a 2005 Porto... so good! Bill and I shared a delicious Pizza Marguerita tonight, and we had fun visiting some models near my place by Collins and Dupont, and Betsey Godfrey. Tomorrow after lunch at Capri, we'll visit a friend who is suffering from terminal cancer. Hopefully, we can bring a little light into his life. Tuesday, back to the office. Stay tuned! DF *****

Years ago, I had the pleasure of knowing the famous fashion designer, Zoran, when he kept a place here in Naples. He owned several properties here, and was often seen riding his bicycle around town...and had a beautiful old property from 1926, called Casita de la Playa, attributed to the Palm Beach architect, Addison Mizner. I was invited to a party at this house once, and enjoyed seeing the property. Subsequent owners have restored and added on to the house, and it's now on the market. (asking $28 million). I just woke up thinking about the elegant and iconic social beauty, Mrs. Winston "C Z" Guest. I was remembering being at a cocktail party in Southampton, and having the immense pleasure of meeting Mrs. Guest,who died in 2003. I also spent time with her beautiful daughter, Cornelia- who had been, like Brenda Frazier, a "Deb of the Year"... Horses, gardens, houses, family... this was what they were all about. The night I met CZ, she was wearing a magnificent black and white gown, and still had her blonde mane styled like Gloria Vanderbilts, with the famous WASP flip. I'll always remember her as being a warm and formidable woman, very Boston proper, and one who took no prisoners. Here she is late in life, looking elegant and serene. Enjoy! DF *****

My time is getting more limited these days for blogging, so, here's a brief glimpse into the classic world my mind inhabits, where old favorites never die, and the classics keep on showing up, perhaps tweaked or updated, but always retaining their sense of history and gravitas. This "Crossback Arm Chair" by Century (model # 3353A) is one of my favorites, I admire how it harks back to early Georgian and Chippendale examples, and yet seems to have a forever, contemporary look as well. Would love it in a leather, or a crisp Alan Campbell printed cotton...and here is a little sentiment I'd like to share with you dear readers.

A Sublime Sunday Night Dinner

Last night, we enjoyed a wonderful home cooked dinner at the home of our friends Dickie and Troy. We dined in the gorgeous kitchen/breakfast room after pre-prandial wines and cheeses in the living room...they always serve Toasted Head chardonnay, very creamy and smooth. Our first course was a cheese ravioli with fresh frisse' greens and a tomato reduction. Yum! Main course was a divine grilled "Hanover" tomato served with a panko type encrusted chop of pork, again, so good! A side of baby Brussels Sprouts too. Dessert was wonderful macaroons and sambucca, amaretto or limoncello. What a nice dinner! Here's a pic of the kitchen, not including the beautiful breakfast area facing the terrace and the pool. Sometimes I think the empty space is so pure and beautiful, in an abstract way, however usually here in south Florida, we are confronted with these blank slate boxes, and often just a raw shell, with no floors, construction dust everywhere, and filthy dirty new windows partially covered in blue film! Gunnebo, A Swedish Chateau

I've always loved the style of Sweden, particularly the 18th century decorative arts. Gunnebo Slot (House) has this wonderful room with a concealed door, reminding me of the Upper West Side apartment I shared with Tice Alexander, the Parish-Hadley decorator. Tice very cleverly had a concealed door (I call it a flush door) installed between the living room and the master bath, effectively concealing the passage from one to the next. I camped out on a futon near this door, and enjoyed that time in my life, as I was surrounded by his huge library of amazing books on the decorative arts...it was very enriching, and I almost never watched television, and we had no computer, i-pad, or i-fone...just a few land lines, a fax, and a typewriter! The estimates for clients were cranked out on this IBM typewriter, on triplicate carbon papers...I do tend to carry on about this simpler time, however, my tech phobia seems to have no limits! LOL ! Wish me luck in this brave new world! DF *****

So, last night I was dining at Chops City Grill, on Fifth Avenue South, with dear Dickie and Troy... Dickie was with the CIA in Washington, which reminded me of my DC days and always hearing about the society hostess, Oatsie Charles. Earlier in the day, I had discovered at Barnes & Noble, a book called "Private Newport" by Newport resident Bettie Pardee, with unbelievable photographs by Mick Hales.... Ms. Charles is also well known in Newport - and then this morning I found on Vanity Fair a piece about Oatsie, with this interesting picture of her...don't you just love her very personal massing of books and objet? I had spent the day with Billy, sorting through endless bibelot at Roberta's apartment, after we had it painted and reupholstered for her (she has lived in this condo for thirty years). One of my dear clients, who is also a friend, had for years a place in Rancho Mirage, and he often shopped at Kreiss Collection for furnishings. I still vividly remember being in the former CHINA SEAS showroom at the Design and Decoration building on Third Avenue, in Manhattan. What struck me then, as now, almost 20 years later, is the absolute freshness, clarity and clean style that was and is presented. QUADRILLE sent this image to me, via e-mail, and I thought it was an outstanding example of how a stunning textile can add va va va voom to a room! This room is known as the Bali Isle Room. I love it when rooms have names, as some houses often do. I have worked on houses with names such as Bella Vista, Rebel's Rest, and Diamond Pointe... always with the utmost pleasure and pride. Virginia based designer, Barry Dixon, has a unique style, and I wanted to spotlight this entrance hall he designed, as my "room of the week". While I adore the interesting salon style arrangement of varied furnishings - I am not as enamored of the wall finish, although am sure it's gorgeous in the actual space. Often, a picture of a room or space doesn't fully capture the essence of what the designer has created. Another feature of the room I like very much are the unusual textiles on the sofa and chairs, and the rondelle the designer used in the center, under the chandelier. I'm not sure, but I think that this house is located in North Carolina, on Lake Norman, near Charlotte. I could be way off. Anyway, think outside the box when planning your entrance hall, with your decorator, should you be so fortunate! Enjoy the upcoming weekend my friends. DF *****

Yesterday, Bill and I found ourselves in South Miami, at the beautiful and historic Deering estate, now a Miami-Dade Park and house museum...the grounds were lovely, and we wandered through the houses and the gardens on a self guided tour. Charles Deering was a half brother of James Deering (Vizcaya) and owned a castle in Spain as well as a Sitges house he converted from an old hospital...in 1921 he acquired the Richmond House Hotel, in Miami, and converted it into a private residence, while commissioning the architect Phineas Paist to build an adjacent property, known as The Stone House...a MedRev structure - he valued his art collection so much that no kitchen was included....and his wine cellar was one of the largest in the country, built during the prohibition era...Mr. and Mrs. Deering only wintered there for about five years before Mr. Deering died, age 75. The Deering Estate Foundation was created in 1989. Tice did extensive work for Ann Getty when they were decorating her apartments on Fifth avenue in NYC in conjunction with the extinct firm Parish Hadley... Billy sold this peacock shown in the dining room that Ann fashioned for Alexis in San Francisco! I met Alexis's mother, Elizabeth, through Bill when she came into the (Naples) shop he used to work in called Maison Auclair, now closed. this is all just more decorating trivia, but I wanted to share it with you, dear readers and followers! I very much like this bedroom, which belongs to designer Joe Nye, in Los Angeles, and was featured in House Beautiful...also I got a mild kick out of seeing my old friend from New York, Arthur Dunnam, on the show "Selling New York" on HGTV last night. Arthur is the head designer at Jed Johnson, and was always very kind to me when I lived in the city. I also as you know have seen another old friend from New York, Peter Dunham, on the new show called "Million Dollar Decorator" on Bravo. Peter lives in Los Angeles and is a decorator with his own line of fabrics. It seems that every magazine I open and every show I see on television is now featuring people I know from my New York days...very exciting! Have a great day dear readers. DF *****

Imagine my delight at receiving an invitation from a new client to visit her home here in lower Port Royal! She's from Texas, and is the most charming down to earth lady imaginable, with a great personality and a fun sense of humour! She loves Tory Burch tote bags too. Strangely, I had done another house on her street (Sabre Cay Lane) years ago for two gentlemen from Jacksonville, Florida who own a large boat (read yacht). And I do know the realtor my new client bought her house from, since it was his house she bought! Fabulous! Love it! Speaking of Texans, I also love and admire the Texan designer Jan Showers of Dallas. Here is a stunning and very evocative image from Jan that simply resonated with moi...(that's me in french) LOL. Off to work, must get up and dressed and out the door...As George Lopez would say, "hit me with a scone"! DF*****

I really enjoy drinking Veuve Clicquot, while perusing the new Scalamandre' wallpaper books... I have so much to celebrate, seeing old friends on "Million Dollar Decorator" - loving every minute of it, and just celebrating my new life on the beach, designing a from the ground up estate in South Carolina, and wondering which new project is coming up out of the blue. Enjoying this beautiful weather, I had my morning coffee out on the dock, and then, my cocktail hour glass of red wine - the breezes! The sunset reflecting back onto the bay was majestic. I caught these shots as well as some in my new living room, to share with you, dear readers. Have a fantastic weekend! Having drinks tonight with friend and designer Joe Rosen, who once lived on the site where Vista Royale now stands (see these pics) - these townhouse units each have their own elevator, pool, boat dock, garage, and are gated as well, with magnificent long bay views up Moorings Bay here in sunny, gorgeous Naples, Florida. You gotta love having fresh roses in the casa!

The late beautiful, striking Baroness Pauline de Rothschild, nee Potter, was an elegant arbiter of style and taste. One of my favorite room shots is from when she had a flat or "set" at the Albany, in London. It just exudes European beauty and sophistication. My old late friend and mentor Tice Alexander, who worked for years as a decorator at the former Parish Hadley decorating firm, admired Pauline very much, and once bought Liz Shean's Pauline inspired settee from her Kips Bay showhouse room...which he then placed in Fred Bricker's upper Park Avenue apartment where he was living at the time. Funny, tonight I saw his old friend Peter Dunnam on the new Bravo show called Million Dollar Decorator! They all seem to have British accents...as does dear Peter. Friend Charles Robert Mills of Atlanta shared this (de Rothschild) image with me, which DFID now has in its files.

Post Holiday Dinner Party

I thought it would be fun to kick off the start of Summer with a small party here at the new place. The menu is very light, quiches, two salads, some tea sandwiches, chilled asparagus, fruit salad, and a key lime pie for dessert...one of the salads is new from Jacques Pepin...here is the recipe.

Jacques Pepin's warm bean and bacon salad

(from "Essential Pepin" Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, October 2011)

8 ounces slab bacon or pancetta, cut into 1/2 inch pieces

1 medium yellow onion, chopped (1 cup)

6 garlic cloves, crushed and chopped

Two 15-1/2 ounce cans navy beans, rinsed and drained

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley

3 tablespoons red wine vinegar

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Combine all - mix well, serve warm or room temp!

I enjoy sharing my life with you, and a funny thing happened yesterday, I had made this sketch for the new luxury estate I'm working on in South Carolina, playing with the name for the house I came up with, SURIJEDA...when very serendipitously I then came across this very similar entrance post situation here in Naples (see photo) Imagine my surprise and delight to find something so similar already executed, when I had made the sketch BEFORE finding this house! Today, the weather is absolutely gorgeous! Low humidity, cool breezes, and hot sunshine! I've already seen several boats pass by my windows this morning.
